Jim Horan,
Investor

Mirador Homes is spearheaded by investor, Jim Horan. Jim has worked and traveled extensively throughout the United States and internationally. When he and his wife Sherry first visited San Miguel de Allende they loved the natural beauty and wonderful climate, the culture and the warm hospitality of the Mexican people.

Jim saw the opportunities presented by the creativity of the local artisans and architects. San Miguel’s surrounding communities are populated with world class masons, potters, blacksmiths, painters, and stone and wood carvers. Jim admired the uncommon pride these artisans and laborers took in their work which was often instilled with a zeal for quality and personal creativity.

Jim has committed his time and resources to finding ideal properties and building impressive houses that represent the best aspects this unique colonial city has to offer. Mirador Homes custom designs blend a casual life style with an unsurpassed living experience.

Juan Carlos Valdes,
Architect & Builder

As a graduate in Architecture from Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana, Mexico City, architect and builder Juan Carlos Valdes has built more than 200 homes of distinction in San Miguel during the last twenty years. Many of his home designs have received local and national awards along with recognition in national architectural and home living publications.

Juan Carlos supervises dozens of skilled subcontractors, and artisans, many of whom have worked with him for almost two decades. Juan Carlos Valdes takes particular pride in designing and developing well-lit, open living spaces that provide a classic colonial feeling while catering to current lifestyles and tastes. Bobbie Topp,
Interior Design Consultant

Bobbie Topp, is a graduate of the University of Texas Interior Design program. Her commercial work in Texas included clients in the legal, financial, energy and health care industries. In Chicago she designed interiors and furnishings for Amoco, Abbott Labs, Northwestern Hospitals and major law firms.

Bobbie has designed interiors for discerning individuals in the United States as well as many San Miguel homes. Her expertise encompasses years of designing and renovating houses combined with a knowledge of Mexican and European antiques. Her own home was featured in the Mexican publication Travesias.
